Omaira Gonzalez, a professional photographer who lives in Foley, captures moments in time that will live forever. Her business, Omaira G Photography, is based in Baldwin County, and she covers Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Foley, Fairhope, and along the Gulf Coast. Omaira says, "A good photo tells a story from the past and keeps it alive in the present."
In 2015, Omaira bought a camera because she loved taking photos. When her daughter was born, Omaira had the passion to capture every important moment in her daughter's life. Omaira said, "I decided I wanted to invest in photography, so I took some online courses and basically learned by myself." Soon, Omaira learned how to master the camera and was encouraged to start a business. For over a year, she has shared her photography with others through her business. She says, "My business philosophy is based on caring about your moments as my own."
Omaira's main business is in her studio, which is in Elberta. She takes family photos, birthdays, Christmas mini-sessions, outdoor photo shoots, and individual portraits. She also shoots weddings and sweet sixteen birthdays, which are known in the Hispanic/Latino community as the Quinceanera Experience. Omaira says that what she finds unique and interesting is photo shoots of food products. She photographs food items for menus for the Cozumel Mexican Grill in Owa and the recently opened Cozumel restaurant in Fairhope.
Omaira's home is full of family photos. She says, "There are different forms of artwork for your walls, but personally, I love to cover my walls with photos of family in hard times and in good times. I have a home of memories." Omaira is from the Dominican Republic and was raised in New York. She moved to Foley with her husband and has started a family and a business.
